International Victimology Symposium - Transforming justice

Save the date!

A flagship event of the World Victimology Society (WVS) for more than 50 years, the International Victimology Symposium is held every three years in different countries. Bringing together hundreds of WVS members as well as experts, researchers and professionals in fields related to victimology, the Symposium offers a unique platform for sharing scientific advances and innovative research, discuss policies and practices, and strengthen international collaboration to better meet the needs of victims.

In 2027, the Société de criminologie du Québec, Plaidoyer Victimes and the Justice Centre for Victims of Crime are proud to host the 19th Victimology Symposium at Concordia University, in Montreal, from June 14 to 18, under the transformative justice theme.

This major event provides the ideal opportunity to promote research and knowledge exchange, raise awareness of victimology, create professional networks, strengthen local, national and international collaboration, develop policies and promote evidence-based practices. Also held in Montreal in 2000, the 10th edition of the symposium was a tremendous success, bringing together more than 1,300 people from over 60 countries in Europe, Africa, Oceania and America.
